The last novel I read was Rashi's Daughters: Book 1:Joheved. Granted this book wasn't the most enticing or enrapturing it was about an interesting subject. I skimmed over some of the book just because the author, Maggie Anton, went far too much into detail. The plot takes place in Medieval France and is about a young girl named Joheved, who is the daughter of a prominent Jewish scholar. I say that this is an interesting subject because it was one that I had not read about. I enjoy reading about different cultures and different time periods. The best part of the novel was reading the different Jewish customs and traditions that went behind them. It’s not one of my favorite novels, and it took me a while to get through because the plot was very dull, but still kudos to the author for doing her research.
